Seedlings
The main activity of La Maison Verte is the production of seedlings destined for reforestation. This production includes three species: the black spruce, the white spruce as well as the jack pine.
To ensure quality products, we have, in terms of production equipment, a computerized environmental control system, thermal curtains to retain heat, trolleys, high pressure sodium lighting fixtures and automated sprinklers.
We are committed to producing high quality plants and we work continuously on the improvement of our products.
The Tree Nursery
The seeds for our crops are provided by our clients: the forestry companies. Sowing takes place from January to June, according to the species and types of crops.
We grow the seeds in pellets (jiffy) and containers. The sizes vary according to the species of tree and the client’s demands.
In spring, the seedlings are loaded into trucks in either metal supports or plastic bins. Their destination depends on the region for the plantation of the current year.
